A foreign branch is a company that is incorporated outside Australia. Registered foreign companies are often referred to as “branch” offices.
A foreign company can register with ASIC, allowing it to carry on business in Australia. Upon registration, the company is issued with an ARBN (Australian Registered Body Number). Registering a foreign company does not create a separate legal entity.
