Similar to 2020, the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) season was affected by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Government imposed restrictions and temporary changes in legislation.
The shift to virtual/hybrid meetings continued, as the ability for Australian companies to hold fully virtual meetings was again made possible due to further temporary modifications to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). This once again removed any legal uncertainty around the validity of virtual meetings in Australia.
Our dedicated Meetings Team successfully guided our clients through the 2021 AGM season, delivering over 260 meetings with 89% of these being fully virtual.
